NIAGARA TRANSIT SYSTEM REFRESHED IN 2014

Niagara transit system which is established in 1960. Its been refreshed in 2014. All the schedules and routes been changed. Its expected to be a big development in Niagara transit system. The huge co-operation with WE GO buses Helps the system to reach the service to every regions of Niagara Falls

Potential for growth of public transit is limited as most tourists come by car or tour buses. Niagara Falls Transit is very underused due to the poor route structure, infrequent route intervals. Half hour or 15 minute routes are non existent even at rush hour. There is also a lack of pedestrian friendly bus stops, no concrete padding at many stops with few bus shelters to accommodate riders. Hotels and the two casinos offer shuttle bus service around the Falls area. Taxis are also a common form of transportation in the city. Most commuters are locals who live away from the Falls area and need to get to their workplace. [1] 5-0 is also a carrier that provides service from the Fallsview Casino and Downtown Niagara Falls area to Niagara-on-the-Lake, using a motor coach. Service operates year-round, but with a dramatically reduced schedule during winter months.
Niagara Falls Transit offers four shuttle bus routes, the Brock Rapid, Niagara College/Glendale Campus, Niagara College/Welland Campus, and Fort Erie to Niagara Falls. The Brock Rapid, Niagara College and Fort Erie shuttles operate during the academic school year. These services carry a premium fare charge, but in many cases will allow you to connect to regular services offered by Niagara Falls Transit.

THE WAR OF 1812

Niagara Falls;War OF 1812

On October 13, 1812 war came to the Niagara region when American troops crossed the Niagara River from Fort Niagara in the hopes of capturing the town of Queenston. The American troops landed their boats in the early hours of the morning hoping to catch the British soldiers by surprise. Although they greatly outnumbered British troops, who had an army of only 500 soldiers and 800 militia, the Americans were met with much resistance and were unable to defeat the British troops. Led by one of the greatest Canadian Generals, General Brock, the British troops had taken position in the Redan battery, an artillery station, which had the vantage point of being on top of a hill.

About Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, a world-famous set of three large waterfalls on the Niagara falls and benefits from the fact that both falls, the American and Horseshoes , can be best seen from the Canadian side of the river, thus presenting the city one of the major tourist attractions of the world. The natural spectacle brings in millions of tourists yearly. The city permitted the development of a tourist area along the falls and the gorge. This area which stretches along the Niagara Parkway and tourist promenade is particularly concentrated at the brink of the falls and, apart from the natural attractions along the river, includes huge parking lots, souvenir shops, observation towers, high-rise hotels, casinos and theatres, mostly with colourful neon billboards and advertisements. Further to the north or south there are golf courses alongside historic sites from the War of 1812
Niagara Falls was incorporated on June 12, 1903. Its population is 82,997 as of 2011. Niagara Falls is also considered by some to be one of the most romantic places in the world.
Mainly a tourist destination, the main attraction has always been Niagara Falls, which brings hundreds of thousands of tourists to the city. Now tourism plays a major part in the economy of the region. Increasingly, visitors seeking more natural settings are finding the Niagara River to be a great place to hike and visit downstream from the Falls where the majority of visitors

The Fallsview Tourist Area in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada is the main tourist attraction surrounding the Falls. In recent years, it has become the home many of the hotels in the city, such as: the Niagara Falls Hilton, Niagara Falls Marriott Gateway, and the recently-opened Comfort Inn Fallsview. Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is also located near the centre of this area. It is also the location of the Skylon Tower and Minolta Tower.
The area is linked to the Table Rock Center and Journey Behind the Falls, on the Niagara Parkway just above the falls, by the Falls Incline Railway

.
The Niagara Falls, Ontario tourist district is  mainly centred around the waterfalls. Much of the land adjoining the river is parkland under the jurisdiction of the Niagara Parks Commission. Many attractions based on the local natural environment have been created. The city of Niagara Falls has a number of additional attractions in close proximity but not related to the natural features, including casinos and entertainment complexes. One new attraction, located in the Table Rock Centre at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, is called Niagara's Fury and is a representation of how the Falls were created. The attraction creates a simulated ice age environment where the visitor is able to feel rain and snow fall, as well as experience a rapid temperature drop. The Niagara Peninsula is also a significant wine-growing area, with winery tours and festivals becoming a significant area of growth in the local economy. The Canadian side of Niagara Falls has more attractions.
